Avangard signs a forward and a defenceman
Avangard Hockey Club has signed forward Fyodor Malykhin to a two-year contract and defenceman Fyodor Belyakov to a one-year contract.
Last season, Malykhin played 41 games for Vityaz and scored 16 (9+7) points, Belyakov played 31 games for Admiral and blocked 103 shots.
Alexey Volkov, Avangard General Manager:
– Malykhin will fill the position of the 3rd/4th line central forward, that is currently deficient. He is a skilled player with killer instinct, capable of handling large volumes of rough work and able to play shorthanded. Fyodor’s solid KHL experience and open-mindedness will help us create a good atmosphere in the locker room. Belyakov is a right-handed defenceman, one of the best penalty killers in the League. He is selfless and fearless, ready to stand up for his partners. He always blocks many shots, which is important for our system. Last season, he blocked 103 shots in 31 games.
