Alexei Sopin is 38, he is a Moscow Dynamo alumnus, spent the most part of his playing career as a forward of Dynamo. He became the Gagarin Cup champion in 2013, played a total of 196 KHL games and scored 57 (23+34) points.
It is worth noting that Sopin played for Avangard – early in the 2015/16 season.
In 2018, Alexei Sopin finished his playing career and became a manager: he was the deputy head and then the head of Dynamo Academy. Soon, in 2021, Sopin joined the KHL team, where he was responsible for development as a sports director and general manager. Sopin left Dynamo in mid-February 2025.
