Avangard Hockey Club has signed defenseman Mikhail Gulyayev to a two-year contract extension.
Alexei Sopin, Avangard HC General Manager:
- The upcoming seasons will be a defining stretch for Mikhail Gulyayev. He will no longer qualify for the junior roster exemption, meaning he will have to compete on equal terms for a spot in the lineup. It’s a big challenge, but we have no doubt that Mikhail will earn his spot and continue to grow as a player. Omsk offers the absolute best environment for his development. With his performance last season, Gulyayev proved he can adjust to any requirements and generate value for the team. We wish him the best of luck in the coming seasons!
Gulyayev has appeared in 240 games for Avangard, recording 42 points (16 goals, 26 assists) and a plus-3 rating. His new two-year extension is a two-way contract.
